mollydooker suggest to me, a while back, to give Okay Guesthouse a try the next time I was in Siem Reap. He seemed pretty fond of the place and apparently, rightfully so.
I reserved, while still in the US, a room at Okay Guesthouse. The plan was for them to provide a driver who would meet me at the airport. Check. Worked out great. He was on time, spoke English, and actually listened to me when I asked him to take it slow and easy heading back to the guesthouse. (I wanted to appreciate the warm Cambodian air, something I had not appreciated for the past several months.)
I arrived, and several guys were waiting for me to assist with my three pieces of luggage, carry on, and computer bag. They moved my things toward the room in an orderly fashion, as requested.
My g/f's sister met me as well, to make sure I arrived okay and to assist me for a few days in Siem Reap, prior to returning to Battambang.
Anyway, during my entire stay (although cut short due to some family drama) everything was addressed almost as quickly as it had been requested. The staff were some of the nicest I have dealt with in country. A few staff spoke and understood English a bit better than others. They were diamonds.
The room was clean and comfortable, had a ceiling fan and air-con, and had great water pressure - a requirement accommodation must have, before I will stay in a room, anywhere.
Upon receiving news that I needed to head to Battambang a day or two early, I requested a taxi driver to take us home. It was scheduled for the following morning at 04:30am. We arrived at my home in Battambang, about 07:30am.
