Changes in forums and categories

Greetings:

In order to reduce some of the forums on the site, I have deleted the "Living in..." Category, and have combined all threads from each city / town forum, into one forum - Cambodia (All Cities). There was also an additional forum for Living in Cambodia (general topics) that I deleted. I merged those threads with the new Cambodia (All Cities) forum as well. So far, this has brought the total number of forums from 39, down to 33. I will see if I can merge other forums as well.

I apologize for any confusion. My aim was to simplify posting, and to help alleviate some of the scrolling on the main index page.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me with them. If you have suggestions, please know that we are open to them as well.

worried about no activity?

By far the largest readership is guys wanting to learn about the country so it makes more sense to just have a "Cambodian cities" forum rather than fragmented forums.

Too many forum areas is a pain in the arse when you want to make a post.

and it seems unlike other forums where there is banter,

here we get poeple asking questions

than after they get their answers...... disapear, never to be heard of again.

Not at all. Activity on online forums goes up and down. Even on my Cebu forum that gets hundreds of posts per day.

Like Kenny said, shedding the site of a few forums, making it easier to navigate, was the objective. I think I achieved that. I still have a few more to look over.

When we created this forum we did not have the experience we had in the Philippines. So, I based setting it up the way I thought would work. In time, it proved that we didn't need so many different forums to cover the topics that will come up. Incidentally, I still delete and add forums on my Cebu forum. I have been doing so on it since 2004.

As long as they get the information they seek, that is what matters most.

At least you guys actually answer questions and not just flame each other.

There is no need for flames. We have a hidden forum if people want more of a "freedom of speech forum" where they can get away with stuff like that.

I've added you to it, by the way.
