New Visa Fees Coming

Recommended Posts

Paul;

we were talking  about the new BUSINESS visa fees;

I did read what you wrote in response  to a question concerning BUSINESS visa  your the one that went off

Actually, the topic is the increase in both tourist and business visas. Both initial entry visas will increase in October.

Posted 28 September 2014 - 09:43 PMwhy up  a single to $35 an leave a 1 year at $285??  they got ya over a barrel an can charge whatever they want.

I'm not saying that I will not be wrong. I just do not see them increasing the extension visas, as they were not mentioned in the notification issued by the government. Of course, I realize that doesn't mean much anywhere in SE Asia. But, I just feel those extensions (3 month, 6 month, and 1 year) will not increase at this time.

Went to the police station behind President Hotel today for my visa extension. Price has NOT changed, same as before, $296 for 1 yr multiple entry visa.

By the way the girl in charge of passport visa extensions is adorable, very courteous and speaks English fluently.

So far no increase for extensions. To paraphrase a quote from Samuel Clemens, (Mark Twain) "The rumors of higher priced visa extensions were greatly exaggerated."

they didn't mention wp, so I didn't either. Just let sleeping dogs lie.

And with in the Khmer mind set its inconceivable that someone of my advanced years would be working.

Khmer culture by and large views the men over 60 as invalids. Incapable of work.

That sounds good.  It looks like I will not have to pay more for my visa.  I will be leaving in 2 days for Cambodia.  See you all soon

Well, that isn't entirely true. You will buy a Business Visa, upon entry into the country. That will be the new rate, $35 USD. When I entered the country, I think mine was $25? However, during your first month, if you decide to buy a one year extension, it will be the same, yes.

I guess you are glad you didn't take my bet.

They could go up, but I don't see it happening in the foreseeable future.

You sound a tad pessimistic - half empty or half full and those two diametrical worldviews make quite a difference.

Of course it will. Everything goes up, eventually. The question we had, involved specific time, October 1.

      So, if I want to live in Cambodia long term, at least a year or more and don't want to hassle leaving the country for visa renewals, which should I ask for when arriving at the airport and going through customs? I'll be leaving California with just a renewed passport and no visa for Cambodia.

      This may actually make it a bit more attractive, if it goes through, to visit the ol' country again.

      Would it benefit you to change your visa status in country after you are married? Or, would you just simply keep the same visa?

      I stumbled on this site and it looks really good. I am looking to relocate in South East Asia. I do not have a lot of money but have about $2,500 per month passive income. I keep coming back to Cambodia as being somehow the most interesting and possibly the easiest to get into. Anyway I will enjoy reading the many posts on this site and may post some questions. I do not require much in the way of creature comforts. I do not drink much or even eat very much. I just need some kind of roof over my head and nice places to take long interesting walks. And I love beachs.

      In fact I will post my first question now. I have read you may apply for a business visa upon arrival to Cambodia that is good for a year and that no documentation is required. Is that true? Sorry if this has been answered someplace. Thanks
