Dining out in Sihanoukville on the cheap

Recommended Posts

Parrothead

If you live in Sihanoukville and Victory Hill than its really cheaper to eat outside, 1 min walk no tuk-tuk, no moto, and just 2$ with a drink.

BUT.. if you live somewhere in PP or SR in the center area i would suggest to cook yourself, it will save much in a long run. IMHO.

I agree. I feel that Victory Hill offers some of the lowest cost meals in the city. I enjoyed quite a number of them during my stay in SHV.

Yes indeed! Lil hill top places with filling meals $3-4.Even without the  kilo rice served with. Fillet Barracuda, mixed vegies stir fried, & a salad $3.50.  Plus $0.50 draft beers.

I stooped at a place on the beach road near Palace Casino & had two whole grilled over charcoal yellow tail snapper & a sliced cucumber yesterday. $3.25. There eyes were clear & bright. Firm flesh. Swimming day before. Excellent.

The owner/chef said he wants to start having Sea Urchin. Says bay is full of them & no one he knows of harvests them.

I've only stepped on them. Never ate one.

On another lil street there are some tasty morsels after dark. The dessert costs a lil more! But like Chinese food in two hours you want another dessert.

the seafood in SV is outstandingly cheap and fresh.

urchin is worth big bucks- kind of an acquired taste.

i heard there is a new oyster place near the square "super oyster?" or some such?

the FB ad seemed to suggest it was all you could eat for $3

i will tell you about good free food now.

if you go to hun sen beach you will find hundreds of huge clams on the hard sand bottom in knee deep water.

safe to eat and clean environment- you will not believe how many there are and how big.

you dont even have to dig for them,

can fill a 5 gal bucket in 5 minutes or less.
