Saigon to Sihanoukville

Recommended Posts

Planning a trip from Hanoi down to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and over to Sihanoukville. Is there a reasonable (aka comfortable) way to get there without going thru PP? How bad are the roads / buses?

Also, what about going to Bangkok from Sihanoukville? Roads are well maintained? Buses are clean / comfortable?

I would take the bus from Bangkok to here (Battambang). I understand it to be about 8 hours from Bangkok to Battambang? Then, take a VIP van to PP / SHV. 5 hours from here to PP. Probably 3.5 to 4, on to SHV?

Of course, I only say that, so you can drop by here and see me. :D

I plan to be in PP for 2-3 days, but the girl really wanted to checkout Sihanoukville for a few days (and Siam Reap).

there is no bus from Bangkok to Batt,

u would need take  a bus to Chantaburi than transfer to another bus to Pong Nam Ron, than find a tuk tuk to take you to the border, than find a taxi to take you to Pailin/Batt

Or go via Poi Pet

I am much closer to Siem Reap, than I am to Phnom Penh. If you have a plan, let me know when it is organized.

I'll just pop by Battambang Paul. It's supposed to be a flexible vacation plan :)

If you wish to stay overnight, I have a lovely guest room. It can be yours, for $89.99 / night. :D

Seriously, if you do, you are welcome to stay here.
