Well, we scored an apartment!

Not our first choice of locations, the rent is $100+ less than other places we looked at, the neighborhood is quiet, our Internet is very fast, and shopping is close by, so we're happy.  We're just a few blocks from Charlie Harpers too.  Heck of a deal!

Anything near Charlie Harper's should be cool and convenient.

$100 smackeroos ain't bad - though yours truly being a dyed in the wool cheap-skate never paid more than $55 per month for an apartment in SHV. Though that lodging was found by my Khmer wife-side-kick.

So for newbies without a Khmer side-kick its a good deal.

One thing that you and I definitely agree on. Dicey may like living like a miser. But, if I were to live like that, I would rather be back stateside working. And, God knows, I do NOT want to go back to work! Gots to have:-

Western toilet, hot water, air-con when needed - at the moment, just about every day, and a full kitchen with all necessary appliances.

I paid $60 for apartment with all the western basics! but no air-con. But I do not like Shitvilla, to me it is not Cambodia, a trying to be Pattaya in the making! but it will never get there in a hundred years. To be honest it may suit some, but I would move back to the west rather then there.

Major attitude, perspective difference here, for I thoroughly enjoy working; not happy at all when I'm unemployed or retired. I was lucky enough to find a vocation I find exhilarating, and get paid for it too boot !!!! When I can't work any more I figure then its time to cash in my chips.

So much vitriol floating around here, lighten up folks.  Because someone does things their way and not your way does not make them wrong.  Unless of course it's my way and they don't follow my wise lead, then, of course, they are wrong!   :shitstormretarded:       :yahoo:

Reading comprehension skills are lacking as well.  What I said was we paid $100+ less for this place than the other places we looked at.  The other places were all running $250 to $300 for the most part, hence the plus, sine we pay only $150 for this place and it's bigger and nicer than many others we looked at in Victory Hill.   I'm glad we got that cleared up.
