Yes ...as soon as I walk in the door from the supermarket ...1 dozen extra large almost each week ...always place in the ref !!

 

Thats why most refrigerators now have egg shelves or trays ...to encourage longer life ...in Australia they are refrigerated in supermarkets from memory but here in the Phils never ...

2006 was when I was last in Australia. But, eggs were not refrigerated anywhere I shopped.

 

They do refrigerate them in the US, though.

In the supermarkets I go to in Oz, they are just kept "not warm", cooler than room temperature.

They are displayed in cartons in open fronted refrigerated cabinets.

More like "chilled" than "refrigerated"

 

Very inefficient as refrigerators but quite effective chillers.

 

After a 10 minute trip home in a warm car, they go straight into our fridge. - they never hatch!- Lol!

 

ps.

 

I haven't found an egg that was "off" for more than 60 years.

Nor got a dose of salmonella - it just doesn't happen!
