Cambodian Tractor

I have no idea what these things are called in English. I just call them "Cambodian Tractors".

Anyway, Chan went around looking at prices for them today. Here is what she found:

New Tractor Unit:

12 Hp - $2130 USD

14 Hp - $2230 USD

15.5Hp - $2330 USD

New Trailer:

$750 USD

Used Tractor & Trailer:

From $2200 USD to $2500 USD, including the trailer.

Definitely wouldn't hurt to have one at the farm.

If it were me, I'd get a 4x4 traditional tractor with a front end loader.  Far more useful and versatile.  Also, a lot more difficult to get stuck and much more prone to crawl its way out if there is mud about.  Granted the 4x4 would cost more, but it's so much more versatile I think it would be worth every penny.

Worth looking around Paul! I think they are near the prices I quoted you some time ago. Happy you have found one :)

Probably, but well worth it in the long run.  Look at Kabuto, Zetor (not sure if they are available here) and even some of the Chinese equipment.  In the long run, you will be glad you got a real 4x4 tractor.  Unless of course, you want to get really serious and pick up a CAT Challenger.  Oh, do those puppies sing!

Well, I am accepting all donations toward this venture. :D Feel free to donate one, or more tractors to the cause.

Seriously, I have set a budget to put into this - which doesn't include 100% of my life savings, or blood. I do, however, want to build the farm up.

Also remember to consider who is mostly going to be using the machinery.
If it is you then get something nicer.
If it is someone else get the cheaper machinery and just tell them to get the job done. And if they complain take the toy away and give them a shovel and a hoe they can do it by hand.

Could be an interesting job but not at the local wages.

Blood?  If you were really serious about buying the right tractor, you would sell your blood and plasma to so you could afford it!   :yahoo:
