The Philippines has been ranked as the second most dangerous country in Asia, and the eleventh most dangerous in the world according to a report by the World Economic Forum.

It ranks at position 126 out of a total of 136 countries as far as safety and security is concerned. Countries that ranked lower than the Philippines were: Ukraine, Honduras, Kenya, Egypt, Venezuela, Nigeria, Pakistan, El Salvador, Yemen, and Colombia.

I feel no more safe, or unsafe here, than I would in the Philippines, Thailand, or elsewhere in Southeast Asia.

To be fair it's all about statistics, a survey of numbers. With the Muslim problem and the little drug wars going on it's going to be well up there on the list.

How many westerners have left the Philippines, and how many are arriving.

   Don't go to western Mindanao ns not very likely the muslims will kidnap/kill you.     Stay away from the drug users/dealers nd very little chance you will have problems (just like in the States).

       I had no problems in 10 years there and no problems in Cambodia in 5 years
