The Best Fish and Chips in Town.

I've eaten them three times this trip and I feel qualified to say that The Cavern on 104 serves the downright tastiest fish and chips in town. A huge chunk of battered fish nearly 3/4 inch thick, fresh, crinkle cut with skin left on double cooked chips (not fecking 'fries') and a big bowl of salad. They give you a free beer in the price on Friday. I'm usually three sheets to the wind by the time I leave but I seem to remember it's just $6.50.

    Powers Irish/Kiwi Pub

Had fish and chips over on Victory Hill tonight. It's called Powers Irish Pub now but in two days it becomes the Silver Fern Pub because Kiwi Mark, the Kiwi CEO and dish washer says so. Here's a photo, bit dark but what the heck, it was grand tucker for $3.00 Â Â Thumbs up Mark for cold beer and tasty food. By the way guys, the chips look like frozen, but no, they were fresh cut spuds.

    Roses Fish and Chips

I could have added this to my Purple Midget post as it's right next door but Rose deserves a post of her own. A HUGE portion of fish, chips and salad for $3.50 Rose will deliver to you in Purple Midget so you don't have to stop drinking. Next to Purple Midget on Serendipity Rd opposite the Coolaba Hotel Very handy ANZ Royal ATM right across the road. A great, tasty, filling back home style meal and lovely local Rose serving.
