Just to let everybody know, this topic might be best answered by U.S. citizens who are living/working outside the U.S. However, all is welcome to answer.
I know that this might sound stupid, but one of my biggest fear leaving the U.S. are filing taxes. Just read this article: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/non-us-residents-abroad-must-file-income-taxes-195444214.html
I want to hear other people's experience filing U.S. taxes while in Cambodia or any other country other than the U.S.
Is it possible to never pay tax and still be able to renew your passport? I have about 5 more years left before I have to renew my passport.
Personally, how I see it, if someone is barely making anything teaching or working in general in another country, what's the point of filing taxes? To the best of my knowledge, it's sad how the U.S. is the only country that forces their citizens who are living overseas to file taxes.
BTW, I'm aware filing taxes online, but never done so.
Here's an article about banks locking out Americans over new tax law: http://money.cnn.com/2013/09/15/news/banks-americans-lockout/index.html?iid=EL
