  1. SPAMbots could be a pain in the butt, if we didn't have a database that links all online forums together via Stop Forum Spam. SFS is a central database that all forums report to through a modification we install on our forums. As forum owners / operators, we also have pretty good control via the settings on the forum, to help determine which new "members" are actually bots. It works pretty damned well, too. Take a look at the bots the staff would have to deal with, if we didn't have this resource. Can you imagine, thousands and thousands of online forums, all linked to one database, constantly banning, constantly reporting to the database bots that try to register on the site, but get stopped in their tracks? Hopefully, the trend will continue - at least until the SPAMMERs figure out another way around such improvements. It allows us to focus on other aspects of running the forums, rather than having to constantly deal with SPAMMERs.
