Cambodia, with population 14,753,320, is a country located in mainland Southeast Asia, bordering Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. Compared to most countries, Cambodia has extremely lax laws on hiring foreign workers, making it an attractive country for people looking for work in the region but who do not have the prerequisite requirements, such as work experience or education, that many countries require for work permits. All of the steps of finding a job in Cambodia and obtaining the necessary documentation can be completed after you arrive in Cambodia.

Are there any websites advertising ESL jobs in Cambodia? Or, is it best to do all the leg work once there?

I'm not in the job market so I don't take much notice but from what I can gather, it's like the apartment hunt in The Philippines.

You just wander about with your ears and eyes open.

You'll meet hundreds of like souls so the chance of finding something is quite high.

A difference from the Philippines is that teaching English there is mostly to other Asians, especially Koreans.

In Cambodia you'll mostly be teaching Khmer kids of all ages, kindy through high school.

I was quite amazed that often prospective employers don't even want to see your credentials.

I find that amazing too. Can you clarify on this please? Are you saying that prospective do not care if you do not have a 4 year degree, just that you are a nativeborn english speaker?

A personal friend of mine has taught English (ESL) here in Cambodia. He said that, typically, smaller institutions may not require your credentials, and that your work experience speaks louder, on your behalf. However, if going to work for a large university, most likely, they will verify your experience and credentials submitted by you.

Great to hear that when I come I have something to fall back on for employment, I have only gained one thing here in Nam in the past 7 years, Experience teaching English, everything else got stripped away, glad I can at least do something in PP when I get there.
