UPDATE: Water Shed no longer does water testing on their premises. They have closed their laboratory and now recommend a company called "Dynamic Scientific" located in Phnom Penh. Their lab guy went over to CWS. If you recall, CWS is an NGO that is heavily into sand filters. I have been given quite a bit of information, and some of the best diagrams and drawings used to create bio-sand filters to be used in this country. Here is a LINK TO THOSE FILES.

The prices have also JUMPED to hundreds of dollars for the majority of their tests. Outrageously priced!

I am now purchasing water WELL testing kits from an eBay dealer. I have yet to receive my first pack of tests. However, the company, thus far, seems to be very easy to deal with. (I mistakenly ordered city water test kits, rather than those for private well testing. They refunded my money and allowed me, with no hassles, to order the appropriate test kits.

I have also ordered 5 Arsenic Test Kits, as well, just to be on the safe side. I will test the well water after it has been drilled and then again at six-month intervals. We should know after the first batch of tests, if any filtration is necessary for the water.

Did you have to pay duty or tax on them Paul?

$2.00 USD. $1.00 USD for each package. Customs duties are cheap here. The most for any single package I received, was $2.50 USD.

It took a while to find the right one. But, I finally got a pump and strainer ordered, and paid for.

      I ordered a 12vdc, 3.0 GPM (11 LPM) ShurFlo Revolution (Model 4008), 55 PSI pump.

To protect it from any any trash entering the pump head, I added a ShurFlo threaded strainer to the order. (Both were listed on eBay.)

They should be shipped early this week. After getting prices that just made me laugh at other sellers, I finally found one who was down to earth, and not trying to get my first born as part of the deal. I found Circle K RV's, a seller on eBay.com. They also have a website. Circle K RVs offer quite a number of parts and accessories for RVs. They also have no issues with shipping anywhere in the world. (Some companies I have dealt with during this search, seemed a bit more apprehensive to ship to Cambodia. Oh well, their loss.)

Anyway, after communicating with Circle K, they were willing to combine both orders into one, thereby saving me a bit on shipping.

So, now I am just waiting. As soon as they arrive, I will pipe both parts into the water system at the farm.

Looks like we will soon have our own water works.
