Somewhat confused about tourist visa. If I get this straight you get a 30 day visa at the PP airport, then you can extend for another 30 days. After that??

Do I have to work to get a work visa? Or just say I will work and ask for it?

You get the 30 day, as you say, at the airport when you arive.

After the 30 days you can extend but only for 1 month.

If you plan to stay longer it would be better to get a business visa at the airport as that can be extended almost indefinitely.

Tourist $20, business $25

If I wanted a business visa, I just ask for it at the PP airport? Will immigration ask for anything from me to prove I'm a business man?

I'm told (I've never done it) that it's just a matter of asking.

As always, it might pay to visit the Cambodian embassy site for a heads up.

And you'll need a couple of passport size pics.

Business visa can be extended for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. (12 month is about $280)

I sent the Cambodia Embassy in Manila an e-mail about getting a business visa, so will see what they say.

I am also interested in what they have to say. Thanks for taking the time to do that, mate.

Is there an answer forthcoming?

No. Nothing from them.

But, I have since learned, as Paul went there in May, that you can get a business visa simply by asking, upon entry. Easy.

Mindless

You only have to ask you don't have to provide anything?

Only passport photos, whether tourist or business.

So, if I want to live in Cambodia long term, at least a year or more and don't want to hassle leaving the country for visa renewals, which should I ask for when arriving at the airport and going through customs? I'll be leaving California with just a renewed passport and no visa for Cambodia.
