Phuket is cheaper than Cambodia

stay in Patong if you want nightlife, plenty of bars, clubs, restaurants  You can find rooms for under 500 baht/night ($15/night)  ( air con, wifi, cable flat screen tv)   walking distance to the beach

the waters are NOT clear till mid Nov as its off season and on shore winds so choppy but great still.

One of my Thai friends is on working/holiday there now! She is a professional dive instructor.

She asked me to accompany her for a holiday (unfortunately for me the time was not convenient, and of short notice). What was interesting information she gave me, was you can get flights from Bangkok for 2000bart.

My friend booked online the day before travel. Good deal I think.

Yep! She's having a great time in the email she sent me. She says I am missing a good holiday.
