Cardemons can be seen like I have today

I love that mountain range. My favorite in Cambodia.

There is an Official ID type card (dont know what its name is) that the Cambodians can get to cross the border daily. Issued by Thailand. A lot of restrictions on it. Basically useful for them to work or go shopping in Thailand.

That's what I was saying about the people of Koh Kong having a book.

Is that just to the market on the other side. Must say its prity slack of them. Is it both sides, it must be.

Our border is more strict. Although they can get documents from the immigration police on the border. Same thing but official and paid for.

They can go anywhere, as long as they are back by that same night.

That's not the same as I am talking about Paul, it's like they are on curfew. But the good part is at least the Khmer are allowed to go over daily, having the opportunity to buy more supera goods.

like John also quotes that they can work daily in Thailand for better money and return home at the end of the day to be with their families.

Unlike the long term workers, need passport and work permit.

I think the difference with the people of Koh Kong is what it is! Many will have Thai family, also they could be Thai. Because of this this they are in general restricted to areas around a fair radius nearer to Cambodia. But not all. And how long. Usually about a week. But many I know have family  out more. They would be away a few weeks, even months at a time.

That's essentially what it is. They can go over during the day, as many times as they wish to cross, as long as they are back before the border closes at night.

You asked me if it was just to the market on the other side. I assumed that was what you wanted to know. I learned that it doesn't apply only to the market, but that they are free to go anywhere as long as they return to cross back into Cambodia on the same day. I have no idea if it applies to people who are crossing to specifically work. Chan isn't here at the moment to ask.

But, you may be right, in that it may depend on the particular crossing. I have no idea.
