Question about Thai-Cambodia overland crossings, multiple times in 2 months

Border crossings working by the rules and regulations. 

What about the less populated in areas miles away from any, official exit and entry's on the border.

Before being up in the north, Khemer villages would have their market on the Mekong river bank. People would trade, barter, sell and buy.The trader and buys come from both sides of the border. Fish, pork, fruit and vegetables. This takes place early morning. Laotian lady arrriving at the riverside with their fresh mornings catch. If you would want what they haven't, then you would have to travel too a more populated town.

From the place I talk of, the nearest Cambodian built up areas were Strung Treng and Preah Vihear, both over an

hours drive on dirt roads, more of a concern in the rains and dark hours.

Over the river is the nearest Laos town with many provisions. The 30 minute boat crossing is an easy choice  of convenience. Seemingly not a concern for the authorities,

longer visits, permitted with significant documents arranged by police of eather country.

Now that's a nice neighborly attitude which usually is found in rural areas. In the bigger cities bureaucracy kicks in, rules are more rigidly enforced  and the neighborliness is gone.
