All talk, no action yet, on the Retirement Visa?

Recommended Posts

Parrothead

Okay, so this thing was supposed to be implemented by August, this year, right?

It's October, and supposedly, some people have them - although I have yet to see anyone who actually DOES, to come forward with any firm information on them.

So, does anyone have any hard evidence that this thing exists? I'm not talking about hearsay. I'm not talking about information you read, heard, or learned through a Ouija Board. Does anyone have a photo, or other firm evidence that they exist and are actually being issued at this time? Firm requirements?

I didn't say  they don't exist.

Thanks for clarifying the name.

Do you know the cost or requirements?

I live in BTB. SHV is a bit far to go.

The ancient proverb: "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" comes to mind. For 8 yrs the "Chicken Little"naysayers have stated that the sky is falling in when it comes to business visas and their extensions. For 8 yrs I've gotten those same much maligned business visas with no problems. For me it ain't broken so I'm not about to fix it.

8 yrs and sky hasn't fallen. Chill out all you pessimists.

I agree with you. But, if it happens to be any cheaper than the visa I am on now, why not give it a try? I mainly wanted to know what the requirements were and how much it cost. Richard seems in the know about this, more than anyone else I have spoken with, though.

for what its worth, (and no they have never made announcements in the past 8 years,) till  last year.  This past year they did a crack down on EB extension holders in various cities and many had to cough up money back dated to their first EB extension that they did not posses a valid WP.  This year ( FIRST TIME ) they came out "officially" with new visa groups and also a raise of $5 to10 overstay fine with anyone over 30 days needing to go to immigration.

do with that info what u want., but to ignore it is just plain not smart

What's the latest on a Business Visa? Can you still purchase one for a year? Thanks.

Yep. Upon entry, request an "Ordinary Visa".
