Thailand Mulling 5-Year Visas for Foreigners

Recommended Posts

Guest Kenny

BANGKOK, Thailand – A long discussion once again has hit the floor of Thailand’s tourism officials, a discussion that some believe is nearing completion.

Visas for those wanting to stay extended periods of time within the country would make Thailand more competitive with neighboring countries like Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Here's the story.

Takes a lot of people out of contention! Half a million in the bank, and not allowed at the monies for a year. This brings the competition above the neighbouring competitors. But with what they have to offer in this developing country, to some a excellent deal.

The elite 5 year visa package is NOT the same as the new 10 year visa that was just approved;

The main topic on the Thai forums seems to be the requirement to have medical insurance , very difficult for 70+ folk to get if they don't have an existing plan in place.

Must agree! Under 70s too. It is depending on how much money you would like to spend.
