Pity about the lettuces. Basil leafs look good, but the plants themselves look very spindly! Something in your system is lacking. It is all about Learning and understanding what your plants need to grow well and strong.

They are young still.

How young.

Like what

This is what you need to work out with your system.

You need to study the plants growing cycle! I once had the problem where the plant was spindly and weak. The plants you have are striving for the light.

Paul it would be worth doing a small experiment! When you cultivate the next batch of seeds, grow a few in soil and compare with the system.

Also your plastic roofing! Is it UV protected?

Why? If the plants won't grow in the aquaponics system, there is no point in having it.

I have no idea.

Your missing the point! You have a reference with the same plants. This will help you with the aqua growing.

Plants will struggle if the plastic is UV protected.
