Beekeeping for beginners 1 day course april 1 Phnom Penh

Recommended Posts

second course was last week and fully booked.

I have gone from fourteen hives to 31 now via queen rearing with probably another 8 new ones to come this next week.

I am manufacturing all woodware at below import price, have a ventilated hive design for the tropics, and am taking orders for varroa free nucleus hives with fresh laying queens. I believe that is unique in this part of the world.

here are some queen cells

I thought the bees did it.  :yahoo:

Okay, so I am not much of a comedian. I tried, though.

I will want to buy a queen or two, when you start selling them individually.

Cool. Very interesting read. I'm glad they are working.

So, do queens mate with drones from HER hive, or from other hives?

only other hives. drones

drones are a clone of their mother- missing half the gene pairs so would produce only drone or infertile eggs

on saturday the latest round of cells will go into mating nucs- 5 frame boxes with a frame of honey, a frame of brood and a foundation frame-  newly mated queens will start to lay about 2 weeks after that
