What is a good rate to rent a hectare of land for, per year?

Someone wants to rent us a hectare of land. The cost, $100 USD / year. Sound like a decent deal? This is farmland, to grow rice.

Sounds like a good price. My wife used to rent her farm for 5000 BAHT to 8000 BAHT ($146 - $234 USD current exchange rate) per hectare depending on if they harvested once or twice per year.

Sounds like a very good price Paul. 1000 sq meter per hectare. When I enquired before about the price to buy paddy land in the Provence, it was @ 3 dollar per meter. So the rental sounds very good. Would you just use it for grazing? How many years is the land available for you to rent?

Missed a zero? 10,000 m2 per hectare. A damned good size piece of property.

No. It's just rice field.

Not sure. May go with rice since it's ready for it now. We would have a 3 year lease with an option of another three years, at the end of the lease. We could make it for grazing after, though.

I certainly did. With land measurements in the UK we use Hectare and Acers. 2.471 acres to one Hectare.

The question was to John about the buildings. And does she still rent? Or is the land sold.

Surely you would use it for grazing after each harvest.

No buildings just land with easy water access.

Her farm is sold but other family members still have farms there.

What was the sale price per meter? And was it in Battambang Provence?

The question was to John about the buildings.

My bad. I was exhausted and in need of rest.

True. But, the cows need to graze every day. Much more difficult to find them areas to graze on during rainy / rice growing season.

I'm impressed. Legal lease agreement with stipulations listed. They just want the full lease money up front, $300 USD. Something I've not done in a long time.

Gonna talk it over with Chan.
