More visa scrutiny by Gov?

Recommended Posts

dicey eye

The following was posted on Battambang Connect this morning. Poster maintains the business visa is going to be more difficult to obtain, with more paperwork and more money. Anybody else hear or recently experienced any changes in visa policy- scrutiny by government?

One factor to consider, the poster does have a rather high priced visa service, so it could be a little bit of self promotion.

To whom it may concern!

Due to another change again and it’s also stricter now. To renew your business visa (1month, 3months, 6monts & 1year) you must have a work permit and the employment later from the 1st of April 2018 on (Just got a phone call from PP this afternoon. Ganesha can help you to arrange the work permit in the price of:

                1.      Freeland - $315 (no document needed only copy of passport, copy of visa: first year you’ve arrived and the last one still valid) $100 fine each year past (can be negotiate if you’ve been here longer than 4 years)

                2.     Business owner - $265(copy of certificate of incorporation, business license, copy of passport, copy of visa: first year you’ve arrived and the last one still valid) $100 fine each year past (can be negotiate if you’ve been here longer than 4 years)

                3.     Employee - $350 (the original of the employment letter, copy of contract of the employment, copy of certificate of incorporation, business license, copy of passport, copy of visa: first year you’ve arrived and the last one still valid) $100 fine each year past (can be negotiate if you’ve been here longer than 4 years)

Please check you visa expired and bring it before the 1st of April, if you visa expired sometime in April. For more info please come and visit me at Ganesha Family Guesthouse battambang, Street 1.5.

I agree. The first thing I notice is Ganesha overcharging for visas.

From a source in Phnom Penh, who keeps updated on immigration issues:

The requirement to submit an employment letter for any EB EOS has been in place for a while now. Reports from agents are saying that an employment letter AND work permit will be required from April 1st, but that is yet to be confirmed.

The Rules seem to keep changing a lot recently. Hopefully after this year (an Election year) it will go back to normal. But like any bureaucracy once they add rules they don't like to take them away.
