Nobody has to go through any type of inspection to leave the country, other than the normal security check where they look for weapons, etc. They simply don't keep track of whether you leave, or don't. My passport has the exit date for when I leave Cambodia, for example. NOBODY gets an exit date stamped in their passport when leaving the U. S.

In my opinion, that is a mistake, but that's just me...

Don't believe that just because there is no exit stamp in your passport, your departure is not recorded (electronically).

That's certainly what happens in Aus. and presumably most other 1st world countries.

In fact, in Aus, that information is immediately available to any other government department with an interest (age pension for example).

Big Brother is certainly watching you!

The U.S. government absolutely records ALL your going & coming electronically.    If you have a warrant for child support especially or of course any other warrant you WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON AN AIRPLANE,

The ink stamp in a passport is totally irrelevant.

EVERY time you attempt to board an aircraft to go anywhere in America you are checked against the NO FLY LIST.

Same applies to boarding an international cruise ship.

To obtain that information electronically would require getting it from the airlines and other carriers. Then they would have to assemble a huge data base and be constantly cross checking it to see if anyone overstayed their visa.

I'm afraid that over estimates the government's programming abilities. They can't keep hackers out or even keep simple web pages online. (They were unable to maintain a database for Obama care.) All that could be done perhaps in your country, but mine has demonstrated their incompetence too many times for me to think they can even hit their arse with both hands.

Keep thinking that, if you wish. But, before you set your mind in stone, perhaps have a read here: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-03-27/think-it-cant-happen-here-austin-bombers-capture-exposes-depth-us-surveillance

A lot of people think our government can't keep tabs on us, either. Yet, here we are...

Governments have already got huge data bases - eg every American's social security number data base, taxpayer database, driving  licences,  etc etc.

Not too difficult to consolidate all that into one, all-inclusive, searchable database.

These days, you don't need to write (and de-bug) big, complex, software programmes to sift through big data looking for something of interest.

Readily available AI (artificial intelligence/machine learning) programmes and the new AI-optimised hardware does the whole job for you without the need for very much human guidance. And it gets the job done very fast ... mili seconds! #

Google and others are doing it all the time - you must have noticed their targeted advertising in the last year or so!

"Government incompetence" is probably here to stay, but don't count on it.

There are probably one or two government employees smart enough to use this computing capability competently!

And of course, cellphone companies know where you are any time you have your phone switched on. And you give away your whereabouts with every plastic card transaction or every time you get on the internet.

Not only is Big Brother still watching you. He's got a pretty hot tool kit to do it with, these days!

# You don't even need to buy the stuff to do it! - you can rent it - in the "cloud"

Cambodian casinos may be at risk Thu, 29 August 2013 Daniel de Carteret

As Vietnam takes steps towards legalising gambling for its own citizens, analysts warn of a threat to the bottom line at Cambodia’s premiere casino, NagaWorld, whose patronage depends largely on gamblers from neighbouring countries.

Local Vietnamese news agency Thanh Nien reported on Tuesday that the Vietnamese Communist Party’s Politburo had decided to allow Vietnamese “meeting certain criteria†to gamble in a casino to be built in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

The move suggests the government is leaning towards relaxing some, if not all, of its ban on Vietnamese nationals gambling in the country.
