I don't recall mine was set back then. While some institutions will send them by postal mail, many probably will have you set it by DTMF, nowadays, over a telephone.

the money had been used in one or more of the casinos at sometime, the tellers/cashers in the casino stamp the bills

In PoiPet the casinos avoid USD. They much prefer Thai Baht.

If you try to change USD at a PoiPet casino you have to go through a bunch of rigamarole. including passport which takes at least 10 minutes. They also give a much lower exchange rate than money changers. So the majority PoiPet casino gamblers change their USD money outside.

All winnings are paid out in Thai Baht.

After reading about Schwab I am very interested. I travel a lot and get killed on fees from ATMs. However, there is only an appointment only office in Vancouver (yes I'm Canadian) and I don't know if I will be able to get there before I leave Canada. I had a look online and it appears I can open an account that way. Before I go further, has anyone else done this and which type of account would I want?
