I thought some of you might find this interesting. Big brother is always trying to make money off us.

For millions of people buying inexpensive smartphones in developing countries where privacy protections are usually low, the convenience of on-the-go internet access could come with a hidden cost: preloaded apps that harvest users’ data without their knowledge.

Not sure how they hope to make much off this. The vast majority of locals buy cheap smart phones, because they don't have money for the higher quality phones. So, I don't see where they are going to be spending much money from ads? :scratch_head:

 

By the way, that is an interesting way to post an article - by screenshot. I never thought of that before.

They could see what works here and test cheaply then they can take that information and move it to bigger markets.
